Our History
Pheoll Manufacturing (later Pheoll Fastening Systems) once stood as the undisputed leader of the fastener distribution industry in the Upper Midwest, renowned for delivering unparalleled service to its valued customers.
Pheoll’s rise and success is intricately woven with the rich history of the Schroer family’s involvement in the company. Al Schroer, a dedicated truck driver who embarked on his journey with Pheoll in 1931, eventually ascended to the esteemed position of the company’s president before retiring in 1972. His son, Bob Schroer, joined Pheoll as an accountant in 1962, steadily climbing the corporate ladder to become the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer until his untimely passing in December 1994.
Unfortunately, over the ensuing years, Pheoll experienced a gradual departure from its founding principles, losing touch with the family business values and the steadfast commitment to customer service that had been its hallmark. As the new leadership focused its efforts elsewhere, a dedicated group of “old-timers” did their best to uphold the time-tested customer service methods established by the Schroer family. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the absence of support from the top proved insurmountable, ultimately leading to the closure of Pheoll Manufacturing in March of 2003.
Schroer Bolt was started as a torchbearer committed to rekindling the legendary service and satisfaction that defined Pheoll. We opened our doors in May of 2003, with the goal of preserving the legacy that Pheoll had left behind.
